Commercial Electrical Construction Instructor
“I went to work with the Mobile County Public School System as Carpenter Helper upon graduation from Mobile County High School in 1990. After almost a year, he went to work for the City of Mobile building traffic signal systems and maintaining street lights during the day while attending Southwest Technical College at night. After earning my Journeyman Electrical card, I went on to become a Master Electrician and became Electrical Supervisor over 383 City of Mobile facilities. In 2007, I was promoted to Electrical Superintendent. I recently retired from the City of Mobile after 33 years of service during which I oversaw the construction of 10 new sports fields, 27 new traffic signal systems, a 1.4 million dollar LED street light installation on City of Mobile roadways, and a 4.2 million dollar LED street lighting project on I-10, I-65, I-165, and the Bayway. I am now training the next generation of electricians as the Electrical Instructor for the Academy of Craft Training – Mobile.”
