Larry Glenn Harris

ACT Electrical Instructor

Larry Glenn Harris has joined the Academy of Craft Training as an electrical instructor.

Harris previously served two years as adjunct professor for electrical technology at Gadsden State Community College. Prior to that, he served as an instructor at Calhoun County Career Technical Center and Calhoun County Schools. While at Calhoun County Career Technical School, he led classes to earn 20 Skills USA medals, 100 percent membership in Skills USA and three student entries to Skills USA National Competitions.

Harris received an associates degree in science from Gadsden State Junior College, a bachelors of science degree in business administration from Jacksonville State University and an associates degree in electrical technology from Gadsden State Technical College. He received day trade teaching certification from Auburn University.

After retiring from public secondary education, Harris continues to serve as Technical Chair for the State of Alabama Skills USA Electrical Construction Wiring and Industrial Motor Controls Committee and the National Skills USA Committee for Electrical Construction Wiring.

Harris has been awarded Calhoun County Career Technical School Teacher of the Year and Alabama Skills USA Honorary Life Membership Award.
